One of the tasks before the National Executive Committee of the Federal Government College Idoani Alumni Association (“Association”) is to procure the registration of the Association under Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act.
A constitution which sets out the main organs of the Association amongst other provisions, is one of the prerequisites for such registration. While the Association already has a constitution, the National Executive Committee would like to ensure that it is a document that will facilitate widespread participation among members and vests the Association with the requisite structures and powers to achieve its lofty goals and objectives. Therefore, this registration process presents us with an opportunity to consider and review the constitution of the Association and propose amendments (if any) to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Association.
Further to the foregoing, the Constitution Review Committee hereby requests (on behalf of the National Executive Committee) for comments on, suggested amendments to, and/or inclusions to the constitution of the Association. Memmoranda should be sent to constitutionreview.fgcid@gmail.com no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, May 7, 2017. The constitution is herewith attached.
